Our Journey
Volkswagens are in our DNA. Growing up my family car was a Beetle. As a young couple we owned two of our own, touring way up the coast to Airlie Beach and deep inland down the dusty Oodnadatta Track. Years later, kids in tow, we hired a VW kombi camper on a trip to New Zealand. That was it, we were hooked. We just had to have one. We found a cute '73 bay with a pop top. We called her Evangeline.
When we first bought Evangeline her not so original interior had clearly seen better days. After a couple of trips away it became apparent that there were more issues with the fit out than just the crumbling chipboard and peeling formica. The layout didn't function efficiently and there was so much valuable space wasted. So we compiled a wish list of improvements for our dream interior and the concept of Lowd Vans was born.
Inspired by classic Westfalia camper interiors we created our own range of sustainable, lightweight & water resistant storage cabinets, imbuing vintage charm with all the practicalities of 21st century living.
Our self-install, flat-pack cabinet kits suit a variety of classic VW vans, T1 split screens, T2 bays & T3 vanagons. We have designed different layouts for different seat configurations and lifestyles. There's a range of colours to choose from. And even an extensive accessories collection.
